How it works

THE 4 EASY STEPS

1.

Schedule an Intake session with a coordinator:

Your first step is to schedule an intake session with our coordinator. During this call, we’ll learn more about the reason you’re seeking care and begin gathering relevant medical and mental health history. You may be asked to complete screenings or questionnaires prior to your appointment, to better understand your needs and symptoms, provide measurement based care, and track your symptoms. We may also ask you to bring a copy of your most recent labs to your New Patient Appointment. For children or adolescents, school behavior reports or IEPs are helpful to bring as well. This ensures that you are prepared for your initial appointment and we can provide a comprehensive evaluation.

2.

Attend your New Patient Appointment (Virtually or In-Person):

Your initial appointment is a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation lasting approximately 30–60 minutes, depending on your symptoms and level of impairment. During this visit, your provider will explore how long symptoms have been present, gather information about your personal and family psychiatric history, and review any past hospitalizations or treatments.

We’ll provide education on any preliminary diagnoses, discuss whether medication may be beneficial, and review available treatment options.

If you’re primarily seeking therapy, we’ll also take time to discuss the concerns you want to work on and outline initial goals for treatment. This session lays the groundwork for a care plan tailored to your individual needs.

3.

Follow Up Appointments: Medication Management or Therapy Session

After your initial evaluation, you'll begin follow-up appointments tailored to your treatment plan; medication management, psychotherapy, or both.

During post-initial appointments, the provider will review referrals, assess completed questionnaires from teachers or caregivers, and discuss next steps in the treatment plan with the client or parent-client.

Medication management visits are intended address side effects, monitor progress, assess for worsening of symptoms, adjust prescriptions, and if warranted- add adjunct medication.

For clients engaging in therapy, the second session is an opportunity to further discuss diagnosis (if any), review the needs and areas of concern. The client and provider will work collaboratively to set meaningful goals for therapy. Your provider will further develop your individualized treatment plan and in subsequent sessions begin the therapeutic work based on those goals.

Follow-ups may be held virtually or in-person, depending on your preference and clinical needs.

4.

Ongoing Support:

Continue establishing care with your provider through regular sessions to address evolving needs, modify psychotherapy treatment plan, adjust medication and Med-Mgmt treatment plans, and work toward achieving and maintaining stability. The goal is to support long-term wellness and prevent decompensation.

As part of your care, you may meet with our care coordinator to ensure follow-through with lab orders (blood work), EKG, hospital discharge appointments, or any external referrals—such as Sleep Studies, Psychological Evaluations, Trauma Therapist, EMDR, Occupational Therapy (OT), Speech Therapy (ST), Physical Therapy (PT), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), Play Therapy, Behavioral Therapy, or Feeding Therapy.

Lab results, consultation notes, and evaluation/treatment reports from external referrals are reviewed regularly.

For all in-office appointments, vital signs are taken and monitored to track for any deviations from baseline. Blood glucose levels are assessed when clinically indicated, particularly for clients prescribed antipsychotic medications.

At the provider’s discretion, pregnancy screening is conducted for all female clients of childbearing age and is routinely performed for those taking mood stabilizers.

When appropriate, brief consultations with our medical assistant may be scheduled to reinforce psycho-education, non-urgent concerns, support coordination and continuity of care.
